Unpublishing items

Admins have the ability to unpublish items that have been made publicly available. While we don’t encourage unpublishing items that have been assigned DOIs, we understand this happens occasionally.

Please note: only items can be unpublished. To unpublish projects or collections, please submit a support ticket here.

To unpublish an item, select the Unpublish tab from the group structure page under Administration. In the box, enter the item’s DOI and select Submit. As a result, the DOI will direct to a tombstone page where we will display the reason why the item was unpublished.
